Will Chile Have a chance in World Cup Betting?
Jun 9th, 2010 by admin

Will Chile have a genuine shot to win in World Cup betting? They are listed as a 40-1 in World Cup odds.

Chile battles in Group H plus they are anticipated to progress out of this group along with Spain.

The Chileans get a little bit of value from World Cup betting odds. They are the second choice behind Spain in Group H. The Chile team could be a team to watch as a huge underdog since they arrive into the World Cup performing nicely. Chile qualified behind Brazil but in front of Argentina in the South American region.

Chile should not just automatically be thrown out as a team that can win in World Cup betting. They have some real expertise. Jorge Valdivia is a huge time playmaker and Humberto Suazo is a great striker and Claudio Bravo is a a great goaltender. Even though on paper it seems like Group H is hard, Chile probably get it easy since they should beat Honduras and Switzerland and if they do that they’ll progress from Group H. What affects Chile is the fact that they would be matched up vs a team from Group G in the knockout round which is not good news given that group is considered the toughest.

Chile is 450 to win Group H and if they can get a result vs Spain they could be a surprise and win the group. Chile might sneak in there and steal Group H from Spain, who is getting all of the attention in World Cup odds. Chile is ranked 15th in the world rankings. Chile has a coach in Marcelo Bielsa who understands how to win as he headed Argentina to a gold medal in 2004.

In a game they should win, Chile opens up vs Honduras on June 15th. Honduras is 450 in World Cup betting in that game while Chile is a -170 favorite. The Draw is 270 and the total on the match is 2.5 under. On June 21st Chile will play their second game vs Switzerland. If they win their first two games then the game on June 25th vs Spain would choose the Group H winner.

If you are searching for a long shot team that might in fact win some games in the World Cup and be a threat to some of the power teams then you might want to take a look at Chile.
The FIFA World Cup will commence on June 11th and is anticipated to play through July 11th. An African nation will be hosting the World Cup for the first time in history this year. South Africa trumped Morocco and Egypt for the privilege. The FIFA World Cup features 32 teams from different countries playing vs each other for the championship in football and is held one time every four years. Brazil, which holds a record 5 titles and is the only team to have played in every tournament, has in the past dominated this event. The current champion is Italy, which has won the title four times total. The following World Cup will be held in 2014 in Brazil.

World Cup Betting Has 4 Substantial Underdogs
Jun 9th, 2010 by writer

There a lot of teams that are big underdogs in World Cup wagering but 4 really stick out.

New Zealand, North Korea (Korea DPR) and Honduras are each 500-1 in World Cup odds. Algeria is 200-1 but you can chuck them in as a major longshot considering they may not get a point in Group C.

World Cup wagering shows Japan and South Korea with higher odds than Algeria but all those teams at the least has a chance to score a point. New Zealand, Honduras, North Korea and Algeria probably will not even get a point in the World Cup. North Korea will be playing in the toughest group, putting them in serious trouble. They are going to be fortunate to actually remain competitive in Group G. They are likely to get beat by Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast. The question is not whether or not North Korea can get a point; the question could be if they actually score a goal. North Korea appears the weakest from all the teams in the 2010 World Cup.

Honduras appears to have quite little shot in their group. They have to compete against Spain, Chile and Switzerland in Group H. They’re less likely to get anything versus Spain or Chile so it comes down to the match versus Switzerland to see if they can get a point. It is only the second World Cup in history for Honduras. The entire squad looked weak in a 2-2 draw in a friendly game versus Belarus not too long ago.

At least New Zealand will play in a group that looks to be low scoring, even though they appear to be in over their head in World Cup odds. Group F favors Italy but the Italian squad is not full of potent scorers. This is Slovakia’s 1st World Cup and Paraguay won’t score a ton of goals. New Zealand is not quite good but they may be fortunate and eke out a point in Group F and if they can, they may decide who moves forward.

Algeria is a squad with a chance, however they’re playing in a hard group with England and the United States. The United States has been hard and England is one particular of the favorites in World Cup wagering, but Algeria can at least be competitive versus both teams. They might steal a point or 2, but it is very unlikely that they will advance from Group C.
The FIFA World Cup for 2010 will begin on June 11th and is expected to run through July 11th. This is the first time ever that the World Cup has been hosted by an African nation. South Africa beat out Morocco and Egypt for the honor. The FIFA World Cup is held once every four years and features 32 teams from different nations competing against each other for the championship in football. This event has historically been dominated by Brazil, which holds a record five titles and is the only team to have played in every tournament. The current champion is Italy, which has won the title four times total. The next World Cup will be held in 2014 in Brazil.
